Hello world . My name is Terrance. It's nice to finally have an outlet to express what goes through this hyperactive brain of mine.
I'm a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan that happens to live less than an hour from both NYC and Philly. I've been to many games in Philly and know many Eagles and Giants fans so you can definitely call me battle tested.
I look forward to the 2013 season. Dallas fans have much to be excited about IF the offensive line can at least reach "slightly above average" status.
I'm sure Romo's in-game decisions will improve with a better line in front of him. Travis Frederick was a GREAT draft choice..period. Having a solid center is often overlooked. Frederick is highly cerebral and that is his biggest strength.
Dez is a new and improved man as well as player. His potential is limitless. His hunger for greatness is growing day to day. I honestly expect Dez and Julio Jones to be the top 2 receivers in the NFL for the next few years. mark my words.
It's nice to have a healthy roster for change. With that said, I must admit that this year's draft added much needed skill position depth. Randle and Williams are going to be good enough to step in if needed due to an injury.
I like the Gavin Escobar pick but I believe James Hanna will eventually be a 100+ reception TE for us. Escobar's red zone abilities alone warranted the pick. You can never have enough mismatches.
I like the defensive scheme switch. The most important thing is the simplification of the defense. The more intricate the scheme, the greater possibility of mistakes.
I fully expect Sean Lee and Bruce Carter to be permanent fixtures in "best at their position" debates.
I dont understand why the "experts" question whether DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer will be successful making the transition to defensive end. These guys played with their hand in the dirt in college and thrived. This is a huge POSITIVE for the defense. Now they can focus on doing what they do best, which brings me to my next declaration.
I also expect the defense to at least double their takeaway total from last year. Constant pressure up front with a D-Line that will be deeper and better than most choose to believe will directly lead to more takeaway opportunities.
I would personally like to eventually see a pairing of Matt Johnson and J.J. Wilcox for a hard hitting and ball-hawking tandem in the defensive backfield. Those two guys have the instints and natural playmaking ability that can't be taught. They just get to the ball. period.
Look for Coach Callahan calling plays to make our offense more physical and less predictable. Clock management will improve since Coach Garrett will have less on his plate. A definite plus going into the upcoming season.
I expect vast improvement this year providing we see drastically improved offensive line play.
Let's hope for the best.
'Til next time,
thanks for reading
Terrance
